Monmouth/Ocean Chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners will host a dinner-meeting March 23 at Old Town Tavern, Toms River. The meeting will feature a panel with professionals in women's health discussing heart disease, menopause and breast cancer. Members and nonmembers are welcome. "Financial Strategies for Today's Woman," a free educational seminar that will address the special needs and concerns of women and money, will be held 7-8 p.m. March 28 at Primerica Financial Services, Juniper Plaza, 3499 Route 9 north, Suite 2-A, Freehold Township.

Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association (JSPRAA) will hold its next luncheon at 11:30 a.m. April 7 at Branches, West Long Branch. Realtor Diane Turton will share her views on leadership, sales and the importance of giving back to the community.

Wal-Mart, in celebration of the grand opening of its Freehold Township store, presented a $3,000 donation to the Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center. According to Dr. Martin Krupnick, chairman of the organization, the funds will be used toward the construction of a new center.

The contribution was among $38,000 in charitable donations that the store made through Wal-Mart's Good Works community involvement program. The store will also have a budget to give donations away locally throughout the year. Organizations interested in receiving funding can contact the store for details.

The new 149,551-square-foot store is located off West Main Street between Route 33 and Stillwells Corner Road.

Babies "R" Us will host an "April Baby Fest" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 8 at the Manalapan store, 17 Route 9 south. Local business representatives who specialize in the aspects of shower planning will be on hand. There will also be food and games. For more information, call (732) 845-2861.
