The Millstone Township Senior Citizens will sponsor an arts and crafts event and a corned beef and cabbage lunch from noon to 3 p.m. March 11 at the Millstone Township Community Center, 463 Stagecoach Road (Route 5524, Clarksburg section of Millstone. Historic Walnford to host free events March 19, 25

Area residents are invited to stop by the Monmouth County Park System's Historic Walnford in Upper Freehold to "Peruse the Past" on March 19 between 1 and 4 p.m. for a once-a-year chance to view the site's archival documents. Staff will be on hand to discuss old letters, newspapers and magazines from a bygone era.

On March 25, visitors can stop by for a "Millstone Dressing" between 1 and 3 p.m. and watch as the grinding stone at the site's grist mill is pulled off and resurfaced. An expert will use tools to recut the furrows on the giant burrstone, used for grinding corn.

Both programs are free.
