Obituaries
Thelma E. Burke Mrs. Burke, 93, of Allentown, died Jan. 11 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center, Hamilton Township. Born in the Perrineville section of Millstone, she had lived in Freehold and in Stuart, Fla., before moving to Allentown. She was a former member of the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, Perrineville. Mrs. Burke was predeceased in 1973 by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Burke. Surviving are six nieces; two nephews; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and 20 grandnieces and grandnephews. Graveside services were held at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Catherine Evanchick Gostkowski Mrs. Gostkowski, 86, of Sayreville, died Jan. 4 at home. Her husband, John Gostkowski, died in 1972; a grandson, Jason Loniewski, died in 1998; and a son-in-law, Eric Kavin, died in 2003. Surviving are a son, John Gostkowski of Ohio; five daughters, JoAnn Truppa of Rahway, Karen Loniewski and Kathy Kavin, both of Clinton, Gail Saladin of Somerville and Judy Bradshaw of the Somerset section of Franklin; three brothers, John and Charles Evanchick, both of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Joseph Evanchick of Allentown; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, also Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children, 251 Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
