Community invited to AHS ‘Idol’ competition

  • Allentown High School will hold its second annual “Allentown Idol” competition at 7 p.m. 7 p.m. at the high school, High Street. Tickets will be sold at the door for $8, with all proceeds going to the state charity Buddy Ball. The community is invited to come and watch as the 10 finalists compete for the title of “Allentown Idol.”
  • Women’s chorus takes

    honors in competition

    The Millstone Valley Chorus, some of whose members live in the Freehold area, won first place in the Mid-size Chorus division and second place overall in the recent chorus competition of the Greater New York Region of Sweet Adelines International, held in Philadelphia. Millstone Valley Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a nonprofit organization of women singing four-part harmony, a cappella. The 53-member chorus performs for public, private and community events, and includes members from throughout central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
