Greater Media’s Oldies 100 and WRAT 95.9 radio stations were honored recently by the LADACIN Network, formerly Cerebral Palsy of Monmouth & Ocean Counties Inc.

The radio stations have hosted an annual holiday party for LADACIN’s Lehmann Center, conducted two radio-thons and three golf tournaments to benefit the agency, helped raise funds for the Lehmann Center’s inclusive specialized playground, and have supported their employees’ volunteer activities for the agency’s special events.

The honors took place during the LADACIN Network’s 24th Rosebud Gala Dinner Dance March 5 at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel.

Commerce Bank has partnered with the Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts to support several of the Scouts’ 2005 campaigns, including HUGS and the new activity center in Howell. The bank has contributed more than $10,000.

The new center will provide year-round educational and cultural activities for Girl Scouts. The center also will be open for meetings and events by other nonprofit organizations in the community.

Julia G. Algeo of Millstone, a licensed professional engineer and licensed professional planner, will continue the management and oversight of all engineering projects for Maser Consulting P.A., which recently moved its Hamilton Square, Mercer County, office to American Metro Center, 240 Princeton Ave., Hamilton.

Algeo has more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of civil engineering and site design involving shopping centers, office parks, subdivisions, and condominium developments. She also provides representation of development applications to local planning and zoning boards, and is the liaison with the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection and regional agencies for the projects she manages. A principal and director of civil engineering services, Algeo earned a bachelor of science degree from Rutgers College of Engineering.

My Gym, a fitness center designed for children, announced that it is opening another 30 gyms in the next 12 months. My Gym now has 140 gyms in 30 states, including one in Manalapan. Among the areas where new gyms will open this year are New York, California, Arizona and Hawaii, as well as France and New Zealand.

Patricia C. Foley, R.N., was one of two recipients of the Kellogg Award for Nursing Excellence in a ceremony held recently at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She is a resident of Manalapan.

The award was established in 1990 through the generosity of Elizabeth L. Kellogg, an advocate for the nursing profession. The monetary award is granted to nurses who have contributed to the development of a new program, excellence in nursing leadership, contribution of a nurse in the direct delivery of patient care, or demonstration of professional ethics in the delivery of patient care.

Foley developed a music therapy program for the patients in the surgical day stay unit. She also enlisted the help of a bilingual person to translate into Spanish a letter of introduction that explains the SHARE support group for those experiencing a perinatal loss.

Jackie Hesslein-Klug is the founder of JHK Marketing Solutions. As longtime development manager for the publishing company Meredith Corp., and sales strategist and marketing director for a Monmouth County marketing and public relations firm for more than a decade, Hesslein-Klug has spent most of her working life analyzing sales practices and developing sales and media strategies that deliver measurable results.

Allen M. Gottfried, a Jersey Shore-based music video director, was recently selected to receive the Telly Award for a video he directed in Los Angeles in 2004. The high-energy music video featured the Southern California-based rock group Handsome Devil.

Gottfried, a 2003 graduate of the School of Communications in Radio, TV and Film at Rowan University, Glassboro, owns a music, commercial and corporate video production company, Electric Head LLC. He interned in New York City at MTV and in Los Angeles at the Oil Factory.

The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. Last year, more than 10,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents were received in competition for the Telly.

Brian Tonry, formerly of Marlboro, has been named vice president of product marketing for the McGraw-Hill Construction Network. MHC Network provides online, integrated information solutions to find work, do work and manage business opportunities.

Tonry joined The McGraw-Hill Companies in 1997 from Dow Jones, where he was responsible for technology and facilities procurement. Before joining McGraw-Hill Construction, he worked in The McGraw-Hill Companies’ Shared Services organization, where he led the team responsible for implementing the Lawson Financials Accounts Payable and Purchase Order ERP solution. He joined McGraw-Hill Construction as director of business development in 2000.

Tonry has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mount St. Mary’s University, New York, and a master of business administration degree from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa. He resides in Robbinsville, Mercer County, with his wife and three children.

Office Depot will offer a two-day seminar to help small businesses improve and update their office and technology products. The New Jersey Small Business Conference, sponsored by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. April 22 at the New Brunswick Hyatt Regency, 2 Albany St., New Brunswick.

Now in its eighth year, the event will feature workshops, exhibitors, speeches and networking opportunities, as well as SBA awards to entrepreneurs and small business advocates. Representatives from the SBA and New Jersey Small Business Development Centers will be on hand to discuss the availability of loans. In addition, the Microsoft Across America Bus will also be at the event as part of its national tour.
