Auditions

StreetHeart, a working, all-female, doo wop, a cappella group, is holding auditions in the central New Jersey area. Those auditioning must have lead and harmony background experience. Details: Vicki, (732) 780-2734.

Women of Song, a female vocal group, is seeking singers with good sight-reading skills. The group performs a variety of music. Rehearsals are held Friday mornings in the Monmouth County area. Details: Randy Minkin, (732) 787-1697.

Seasoned Players, the acting troupe of SCAN (Senior Citizens Activities Network), will hold open auditions for ages 50 and over on March 22 from 1-3 p.m. at Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, and March 29 from 1-3 p.m. at the SCAN Learning Center, Monmouth Mall, Eatontown. Scripts will be provided.

Seasoned Players is an acting class offered through SCAN and focuses on play analysis, scene study and rehearsal techniques, which culminates with performances of popular children’s theater classics. Class will begin April 5 at 1 p.m. There is no fee for the class, but SCAN membership is required.

Over the Rainbow Productions will hold auditions for “Play It Again, Sam” from 2-5 p.m. April 2 at the Eatontown Playhouse, Route 35, Eatontown. The show will run May 20-June 4.

Also, auditions for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” will be held at 6 p.m. April 16 at the Eatontown Playhouse. Nurse Ratched and Harding are the only roles cast; all other roles are open. Those auditioning should prepare a three-minute monologue. The show will run June 10-July 9, with no performance June 19 or July 3. Details: (732) 888-0339.

Eatontown Playhouse Children’s Entertainment Series will hold auditions for children ages 7 and up for “Little Red and the Hoods” from noon to 4 p.m. April 9 at the Eatontown Playhouse, Route 35, Eatontown. The show will run May 28-June 11. Details: (732) 888-0339.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) Summer Musical Program and the Westfield Young Artists’ Cooperative Theatre (WYACT) will join forces to present “Guys and Dolls.” Auditions for the cast will be held April 3 and April 9, with final callbacks April 16. The show will be presented at NJPAC, Newark, July 15-24, and at the Algonquin Arts Theater, Manasquan, July 29 through Aug. 7.

The April 3 auditions will be held at the Algonquin Arts Theater, 173 Main St., Manasquan, 1-3 p.m. The April 9 auditions will be held at NJPAC’s Lucent Technologies Center for Arts Education, 24 Rector St., Newark, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with dancing callbacks at 7 p.m. Final callbacks are April 16 at NJPAC, One Center St., Newark.

Performers ages 14-21 with vocal and dance training are invited to audition. Those auditioning must prepare a selection from a Broadway musical and bring sheet music in the appropriate key, along with a photo of themselves. An accompanist will be provided.
