Resident says incumbent’s record speaks for itself

An advertisement and article I read in last week’s Examiner compels me to write this letter. John Pfefferkorn, incumbent politician, said in an article that he asked Bob Kinsey what the issues are that he wanted to debate on. Therein lies the problem. John has been in office for almost three years and still does not know what the issues are that face our community.

John Pfefferkorn, in his paid advertisement, says he is a results oriented accountant with an MBA in finance who understands how numbers work and will put that skill to work on the issues. Why, then, did the incumbent allow over $22 million of our tax dollars to sit in low-interest-bearing bank accounts while he was the finance liaison on the [Township] Committee? If he could not figure out that earning more than twice as much interest on secured deposits is a good idea, what understanding and skill is he referring to?

If after three years in office the incumbent still does not know the issues that are most important to the residents, it is time for him to go. If after three years in office the incumbent has not delivered the five-year strategic plan for spending he promised during his last campaign, we will not see one during a second term.

A few weeks ago, I attended a council meeting where a township resident wanted to appeal a ruling; John Pfefferkorn was concerned with the rights of AT&T wireless and had total disregard for the resident. This is a small town where the residents and local community come first. This is not the case with John Pfefferkorn, and it’s time to make a change.

The incumbent’s record (or lack thereof) speaks for itself. It is time for a change in leadership for our community. I trust Bob Kinsey cares about the residents of Millstone and will fight for the little guy to keep our rural community safe, environmentally sound and fiscally responsible.
