After a week off, UFA 40 FC resumed play this past Sunday with a game away to Middletown. UFA got on the board early with a strike from David Sebag after a fine run down the left wing, beating several defenders before putting his shot past the advancing keeper. Goals quickly followed from Steve Sinai and Agim Fishta before Middletown pulled one back just before the half.

The second half resumed in the same vein with UFA controlling the game. Adam Klobucista scored a beautiful goal, dribbling past four defenders and firing home a strong shot from 15 yards.

This game also saw Didier Mory making his debut in goal, replacing an absent Martin Scarano. He made several excellent saves, including a penalty to deny Middletown any opportunity to get back into the game. With this fine performance behind him, Mory takes over the No. 2 slot as back-up goalie and may eventually challenge Scarano for the top spot. A very rare goal from Alan Nicholls and one from Dan Caruso rounded out the scoring for UFA. Final result Middletown 2, UFA 6. On Father’s Day, UFA 40 FC are at home to Brick with a chance to improve on their 1-1 tie earlier on in the season. Kickoff is at 9 a.m. at the Mark Harbourt Complex.
