Jewish-Irish breakfast to be held March 14

A lecture on the ancient Irish and Celt connection to the Biblical lost Jewish tribe of Dan, as described in "The Annals of Ireland" at Dublin’s Trinity College, will be presented March 14. The lecture will be hosted by the Jewish War Veterans Manalapan-Marlboro Post 972 during its 14th Jewish-Irish Friendship Breakfast.

The breakfast program was established to build bridges of friendship and understanding between the two New Jersey communities. All members of the Jewish and Irish communities are invited to be the breakfast guests of Post 972.

The light breakfast will be held in the Marlboro Jewish Center’s Chai Educational Building, 46 Topanemus Road, Marlboro. Irish music and army bagpipe marches of the Republic of Ireland will be played during the social period beginning at 9 a.m. The musical entertainment will continue during the breakfast, which will start at 9:30 a.m., and there also will be Irish dancing when the recorded songs and music of Willie Lynch are played after the breakfast meeting.

Reservations are required. Call (732) 431-1514 for reservations or information. Callers should leave a name, telephone number, and the number of people planning to attend. If the event is overbooked, callers will be notified by telephone.
