Obituaries Paul M. Finkel Sr. Mr. Finkel, 76, of Allentown died Feb. 5 at home. Born in North Bergen, he had lived in Allentown for 25 years. A graduate of Holy Family School, Union City, he was a contractor for 38 years, retiring in 1994, and was the developer for Williamsburg Village in Bordentown. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he loved fishing and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Ena Finkel; two sons, Paul M. Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and William C. of Palmerton, Pa.; three daughters, Jean Fingermann of Barnegat, and Linda Lee Mahoney and Diana Spaeth, both of Manahawkin; two brothers, Joseph and John Finkel; five sisters, Betty Bakarich, Theresa Spaeth, Ann Paras, Mary Ferra and Joanne Buffa; three stepchildren, Jacqueline Beamer, Kimberly Tunney and Kevin Frech, all of Bordentown; and nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John’s Church, Allentown, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Cremation was private. Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, was in charge of arrangements. Ella Louise Brown Mrs. Brown, 91, of Millstone died Feb. 1 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Hastings, Fla., she had lived in Millstone for 65 years. She was a retired domestic who loved baking. She was a member of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church, Freehold, where she was active on the Usher Board, Golden Age and Kitchen committees. She was predeceased by a son, Obadiah E. Brown. Surviving are a daughter, Ruth A. Warren of Bowie, Md.; three sisters, Dorothy Crippen of Lakewood, Bernice Brown of Trenton and Willimea Hughes of Philadelphia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, followed by interment at Allentown Methodist Cemetery. Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, was in charge of arrangements. Albert "Bill" Arndt Mr. Arndt, 85, of Hamilton died Feb. 5 at University Medical Center, Princeton. Born in Philadelphia, he was a resident of Robbinsville for most of his life. A World War II Army veteran, he owned and operated Edelweiss Gardens in Robbinsville for more than 50 years and especially enjoyed growing orchids and exotic plants. He is survived by his wife, Helen Arndt; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Joan Arndt of Italy, Gilbert and Karen Dilts of Cream Ridge, and Kenneth and Mary Dilts of Robbinsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Pat Gagnon of Allentown; 11 grandchildren; and a cousin and his wife, Donald Lee and Pat Yotty of Cedar Hill, Mo. A memorial service was held at Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Heinzel-Nelson, pastor of the Allentown Presbyterian Church, officiating. Cremation was private. Gorczyca Mr. Gorczyca, 75, of Englishtown died Feb. 10 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in various towns in Union City before moving to Englishtown many years ago. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. A U.S. Army veteran, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 40 years, retiring as postmaster in Cranford. He was a fourth-degree member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 5903, Englishtown. He was predeceased by a son, Frank, and a brother, Edward. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary A. Gorczyca; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Deborah Gorczyca of Danbury, Conn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and David Kozlowski of Manalapan, and Lori and Joseph Caternicchio of Apex, N.C.; two sisters, Victoria Gill of Kenilworth and Jean Przepadlo of Cranford; and seven grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
