This past Sunday the UFA Men’s soccer team traveled to Patriots Park to take on a Jackson team that has been in the league for almost 20 years, and were ready for the challenge from the UFA rookies on a cold morning. he first half was very evenly balanced, with one very fine effort of note from Dan Caruso, a 30-yard volley that was headed off the line. At the other end Martin Scarano made a tremendous diving save at the feet of the charging Jackson forward who had beaten the offside trap to get through on a solo run to goal. In the second half the superior fitness and skills of UFA eventually wore down the Jackson team with two goals from Ageem Nierstedt, one a penalty shot after he was brought down in the area. It was an sll-around solid performance from UFA, who is currently 7-4-1 on the year. Next week, in the penultimate game of the season, UFA is away to Lakewood at Shenandoah Park.
