Forwards Amanda Kyle, Carolyn Horner, Danielle Turner, Diana Braun and Ashley Perritt all had a very strong game. Shannon Buckley did not play due to an injury.

The Allentown United U9 boys travel team commenced their inaugural season, beating the Beachwood Blackhawks 2-0 last week. Steven Hensley, Alec Scarano and Jake Calvitti played very well up front leading the attack. Patrick McCarthy manned the nets getting his first shutout. The defense was led by Ryan Darrell, Evan Byrnes and Cameron Mory as they controlled the play and denied Beachwood from scoring. Patrick Dawes, Justin Patrylow, Alexander Valentino and Nicholas Miles all played well and helped secure United’s first victory.

The U9 boys returned to action this past weekend, making their home debut. They were bolstered by the return to the line-up of Anthony Derisi and Russell Nicholson, who had both missed the first game with injuries. The United lost 4-1 to a very good team from the Howell Sports Academy.

The United had numerous scoring opportunities but Howell’s goalie made several very good saves. The lone goal for the United was scored by Steven Hensley. The United return to action this Saturday at home in a 1:30 game against the Alliance.
