Girl Scouts in need
of local volunteers
The Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts is seeking caring individuals to help provide quality programs for the 11,800 Girl Scouts in the Monmouth and northern Ocean County area.
In addition to traditional troop leaders, administrative volunteers to help plan activities for various geographic areas are needed.
Adults can also help by volunteering to mentor an older girl or run an occasional workshop in subjects ranging from pottery to choosing a career.
In particular, the Monmouth Council is seeking volunteers in the Manalapan-Marlboro community.
"The common misconception is that a volunteer has to be a woman and a troop leader," said Susan H. McClure, chief executive officer of Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts. "But there are so many ways that adults can enhance the lives of local girls, whether it’s through an occasional workshop or lending expertise to a fund-raising committee."
For more information, call the Council at (732) 938-5454 and ask for the membership department.
