Millstone woman honored for volunteerism
The Volunteer Center of Monmouth County will hold its 20th annual "Volunteer Recognition Luncheon" today at 11:30 a.m. at the Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury.
The theme of the event is "Always Caring, always Sharing." Monmouth County Freeholder Ted Narozanick will serve as the master of ceremonies.
This year’s winners are: Peg Leisen of Millstone, nominated by the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, the Katharine Elkus White Volunteerism award; Matthew Berkowitz of Marlboro, nominated by CentraState Medical Center, the Helen Hermann Outstanding Youth award; The Women’s Center Couriers, nominated by CentraState Medical Center, the Outstanding Adult Volunteer Group award; the Christian Service Program of St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, the Outstanding Youth Group award; New Jersey Natural Gas Co., the Outstanding Business Partner award; the founding board of directors of Coastal Habitat for Humanity, the Community Initiative award; and Carol Dedrick of Red Bank, nominated by CPC Behavioral Healthcare, VNA of Central Jersey and the Volunteer Center of Monmouth County, the Special Recognition award.
