Allentown homeowner says youthful ‘prank’ crossed the line

Sadly, as has been the case in summers past, Allentown appears to be experiencing the effects of youthful boredom. Yet another park bench on Lakeview Drive has been pushed over the hill toward the lake — not an easy feat, considering its concrete makeup. According to one police officer, other childish pranks have also occurred during recent times.

While my wife and I have experienced the loss of personal property during these recent escapades, in my mind the loss was minimal. However, while removing our personal property, the perpetrators had no regard for the American flag next to the "goal." While removing the item, a flag in the vicinity was stepped on and pushed into the dirt.

To those responsible for this desecration, be reminded that many suffered, and many have died, to sustain the very freedom that allows such people as you to walk in public without fear. I hope that you will eventually grow up and respect their sacrifices. Perhaps you will realize that your parents and neighbors are the ones who ultimately pay for your pranks.
