Millstone Township hospital auxiliary says thank you to supporters

On behalf of the Millstone Township Hospital Auxiliary, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in town who supported our organization during 2001.

Through your generosity we were able to turn over a check to CentraState Medical Center in the amount of $9,497.70, an astounding 50 percent increase over last year.

Our major fund-raisers include the selling of winter and spring holiday flowers (to be held on March 25), and Easter candy from Old Monmouth Peanut Brittle Co. in Freehold (going on now). In addition, we participate in Millstone Day, hold an annual Harvest Dance and solicit donations via our annual "Apron Project" letters. This dates back to the time when members would make aprons and solicit contributions based on their sale.

Throughout the course of the year we also hold specialized craft sales and assorted raffles. We offer donor cards, whereby a donation can be made on behalf of a loved one, whether to commemorate a birth or recovery from illness or as a memorial.

In existence since 1965, our diverse group is open to new members and our meetings are held at the Millstone Municipal Building in Perrineville on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Again, we appreciate the generosity of our community and would like to specifically thank the Millstone Elks Lodge No. 2613 for their continued support.

      Barbara A. Rubin
