U.F. native now president of state architectural board U.F. native now president Former Upper Freehold resident Frederick C. Kniesler Jr., Rumson, was recently elected president of the New Jersey State Board of Architects for 2001-02. The board was established in 1902. He is the first landscape architect to serve as president since the landscape architect examination and evaluation committee of the board was created by the legislature in 1984. Kniesler, a professional planner and certified landscape architect with 20 years’ experience, is employed by the Sheehan Consulting Group, South Amboy. A charter member of the landscape examination and evaluation committee from 1984-92, he was reappointed by former Gov. Christie Todd Whitman in 1996. Whitman also appointed him as the landscape architect member of the New Jersey State Board of Architects in 1998, and he was recently reappointed by former acting Gov. Donald T. DiFrancesco. Kniesler serves on the Rumson Zoning Board of Adjustment, and is president emeritus of the Monmouth County Historical Association. His memberships include the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the American Planning Association. He received his bachelor of science degree in landscape architecture from the University of Virginia, and his master’s in city planning from the University of Pennsylvania. The native of Upper Freehold Township has resided in Rumson for 18 years with his wife and two daughters. |
