Sport Shorts Chris Kilbride of Colts Neck has the points lead in the Street Truck Series after the first two months of Wall Stadium’s 2000 season. Kilbride has won two features and compiled points with consistent Top 10 finishes. Heading into Saturday night’s action, Craig Wallis of Farming-dale has won the last three Street Stock Division features at the Wall township speedway and is closing in on points leader Larry Thompson. Wallis’ most recent win was a 50-lap main event. Racing starts at 7. The Freehold Area Running Club’s 18th annual Bud Light 2000 Summer Race Series began on June 21 at Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Route 33, Manal-apan. The featured 5K race starts at 6:50 p.m. each Wednesday. At 6:10 p.m. there are youth races and at 6:30 p.m. there is a 1-mile Fun Run. The series will continue Wednesday evenings through Aug. 2. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is for players of all positions. Hitting, bunting, base running and the basic fundamentals of the sport will be taught. Bob DiBer-nardo, a successful high school coach whose teams have won nine league championships, three county titles, five state sectional crowns and the 1991 state championship (32-0 Ramsey, is running the camp.
