      JOHN GORDON "GORDY" THOMPSON SR., 73, of Colts Neck, died June 15 in Keyport. Born in Upper Freehold Township, Mr. Thompson had resided in Colts Neck for 49 years. He was employed by Zoubek Trailer Sales and Rentals, Parlin, for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He was a seaman 2nd class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Thompson was a member of the American Legion, Freehold, and a life member and former captain of the Colts Neck Fire Co. No. 1 since 1952. He was predeceased by his father, Elmer M. Thompson Sr., and a brother, Elmer M. Thompson Jr. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Anne Hardy Thompson; his mother, Beatrice H. Thompson, of Lakewood; two sons and daughters-in-law, John G. Jr. and Rosemary D. Thompson, of Matawan, and Edward R. and Linda G. Thompson, of Jackson; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Anne Thompson-Belke and R. Craig Belke, of Leonardo; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Edward Anderson, of Lakewood; a sister-in-law, Joan Thompson Huntley, of Brick; eight grandchildren and three nephews.
